Part of our mission here at Harvest Café is to provide a community space for local artists. Beginning modestly in 2003, we hosted literature readings for Hudson High School’s Creative Writing class. Since then Harvest Café has expanded its offerings, including art exhibits and openings, poetry, and musical performances.  Please stop by the Café and support the local arts scene, from our music schedule to visual arts exhibits.

Music,Music, Music!    Wednesday through Saturday evenings, 8-10pm

Check out our live music schedule with weblinks and bios online on our calendar to see who is playing next week.
The FABULOUS music continues here at the Cafe this week with the following schedule:

Wednesday: Open mike with singer-songwriter, Steve Howard, www.cdbaby.com/cd/jshoward.
Thursday: Abbie Barrett, singer songwriter writes:  A little bit about myself, since you asked: I've been writing music for about two years now and have been playing shows for about a year. It has been a spectacular experience so far, and while I'm totally broke, playing music has allowed me to meet a bunch of great people and I really do learn something new everyday. (And once you get over the initial gag reflex, the flavor of catfood starts to grow on you. Kidding...Sort of.) As for what my music actually sounds like, I'll spare you from some endless list of influences and comparisons. Just click on the tracks below and hear for yourself. All I'll say is that if you love Tom Jones, you shan't be disappointed. www.abbiebarrett.com
Friday:  Robin O'Herin is a must see. She is a blues guitarist and singer extraordinaire. This will be a fabulous night of music at the Cafe, and we are pleased to welcome her back.  http://www.robinoherin.com/
Saturday: Stuart Ferguson and Lori Diamond have played all over MetroWest, and we have been lucky enough to have them here at the Cafe. We welcome back their soulful vocals and great musicianship on guitar and piano. A great way to wind down your hectic week!   http://www.stuartferguson.net/index.php?page=cds  and  www.myspace.com/loridiamond.

You may reserve seating in the dining room for any meal. We are a restaurant and rely on your patronage, and generosity towards our servers and the musicians who play here in lieu of a Cover Charge for the music.  Reservations for the Music only, during dinner hours is at our discretion.  We hope to create an enjoyable space for dining and listening for all of our Patrons.
Thanks to our resident poet/photographer, Jennifer Kirkpatrick, we now have a functioning MY Space page, with music samples and a photo slide show of past performers at the cafe.  www.myspace.com/harvestcafe   Check it out!  It's so coooool!
Our Event Calendar is updated daily. There are links to many of our past and future performers, please check them out on our website. NO COVER, but donations to the musicians are encouraged.  This month's schedule is available for download or printing by clicking this link:  monthly event schedule

Book Club is the Second Thursday of the month in the Lounge at 7pm.

September's book is:  A Thousand Splendid Suns  is a novel by Khaled Hosseini.  Synopsis from his website:  A Thousand Splendid Suns is a breathtaking story set against the volatile events of Afghanistan’s last thirty years—from the Soviet invasion to the reign of the Taliban to the post-Taliban rebuilding—that puts the violence, fear, hope, and faith of this country in intimate, human terms. It is a tale of two generations of characters brought jarringly together by the tragic sweep of war, where personal lives—the struggle to survive, raise a family, find happiness—are inextricable from the history playing out around them.

Propelled by the same storytelling instinct that made The Kite Runner a beloved classic, A Thousand Splendid Suns is at once a remarkable chronicle of three decades of Afghan history and a deeply moving account of family and friendship. It is a striking, heart-wrenching novel of an unforgiving time, an unlikely friendship, and an indestructible love—a stunning accomplishment

Knitting Night in the lounge at 7pm.
